Active Projects

Development opportunities abound in the City of Coatesville, and they are continually transforming from blueprint to brick and mortar. Be sure to explore the interactive map below to see the status of more than a dozen projects.

Status Updates

New Coatesville Train Station

After ten years of planning, this project broke ground in October of 2021 and is slated for completion in the Spring of 2026. The new station, located at Fourth Avenue and Fleetwood Street, will include new platforms and ADA accessibility. The Fourth Avenue underpass has been permanently closed to vehicular traffic and will become a pedestrian walkway connecting the east and west bound station access. The Flats

IDG Development has purchased a 24-acre parcel from the City to make way for construction of the National Sports & Events Center (NSEC), a state-of-the-art multi-purpose arena and special-events center featuring a world-class velodrome. Groundbreaking is anticipated in late 2025. Learn more about the National Sports and Events Center.

Downtown Revitalization Activities

In 2019, the 2nd Century Alliance secured a six-year Neighborhood Partnership Program (NPP) grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development to support our downtown revitalization strategy. We are proud to share that we now have another six-year commitment through the NPP, allowing us to continue implementing long-term, impactful strategies to strengthen Coatesville’s commercial district. These efforts include façade improvement grants, business retention and attraction initiatives, and special events that activate our downtown spaces. Creating Strong Residential Neighborhoods

Through an initial five-year grant from the Regional Foundation, we launched a comprehensive program to strengthen Coatesville’s residential neighborhoods—empowering residents to take an active role in shaping their blocks and the broader community. We’re excited to share that we have now received another five-year grant to continue and expand this important work. Stabilizing neighborhoods and supporting residents remains essential to ensuring that all of Coatesville benefits as the city’s economy grows. Our strategy focuses on resident engagement, enhancing parks and public spaces, advancing public safety, creating jobs and workforce opportunities, promoting homeownership, and expanding youth programming.
